Overview
Our
main research interests are the applications of mathematical and
statistical theories to communication, detection, and estimation
problems. General research topics include location-aware networks,
measurement and modeling of time-varying channels, design and analysis
of multiple antenna systems, ultra-wide bandwidth (UWB) systems,
optical transmission systems, and space communications systems. It is
our firm belief that theory should be always complemented by
experiments, and we have an ongoing commitment to the development of a
state-of-the-art experimental facility. In brief, our research combines
- theoretical
analysis for determination of fundamental performance limits;
- the design of practical
algorithms that
approach such ultimate limits; and
- experimentation, both
for validation and
for developing realistic statistical models.
