Pedro C. Pinto received the "Licenciatura" degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering in 2003, from the Oporto University in Portugal. During the 5 years of this program, he was consistently awarded the university’s Merit Scholarship Award, ranking 1st out of 5000 engineering undergraduates. In 2004, he joined MIT as a doctoral student and is currently with the MIT Laboratory for Information and Decision Systems, pursuing a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering and a Minor in Finance. His research interests span the fields of wireless communications, software defined radio, and signal processing. He was the recipient of several awards, including the Claude E. Shannon Fellowship in 2007, the Best Student Paper Award at the IEEE International Conference on Ultra-Wideband in 2006, and the Infineon Technologies Award in 2003.
