Yuan Shen received his B.S. degree in 2005 from Tsinghua University, China, and S.M. degree in 2008 from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), Cambridge, both in Electrical Engineering. He is currently a Ph.D. candidate with the Laboratory for Information and Decision Systems (LIDS) at MIT. His research interests include wideband cooperative localization, cooperative communication, ultrawide bandwidth propagation channel estimation, and quantum communication.

During 2003 and 2005, he was with the Intelligent Transportation Information System Laboratory of Tsinghua University, where he worked on statistical signal and image processing. Since then, he worked on wideband cooperative localization for his master's. Yuan Shen received first-class scholarship for four consecutive years during 2001-2004 and graduated with highest honors from Tsinghua University in 2005. He received the Walter A. Rosenblith Presidential Fellowship from MIT in 2005 and the Best Paper Award from the IEEE Wireless Communications and Networking Conference (WCNC) in 2007.
